Genetica is able to download graphics resources for use in your textures and animations. As the following illustration shows, these resources enable beautiful effects that would not be possible without them.
The following dialogs are associated with Genetica's resource library.
Common Questions
How do I discover where the application is storing resources?
How do I change the location where resources are stored on my computer?
Will I be able to delete downloaded resources later?
It is not recommended that you delete locally saved resources as this will slow the functioning of any Spiral Graphics applications that rely on those resources. You can delete individual resources by clicking the trashcan icon that will appear in the Select Image dialog for any resource that has been saved locally. If you will not be using Spiral Graphics applications for a while and need to reclaim all hard drive space consumed by the resource library, you can use Windows Explorer to delete the folder that contains the downloaded resources. The "How do I discover where the application is storing resources?" section above explains how to discover where this folder can be found.
What will happen if I refuse or am unable to download resources?
Genetica will use the following image in place of missing resources. This is likely to cause images to render incorrectly. If you see this checker pattern appear in your renders it is an indication that required resources are not found.
