Using the various Effect Types, you can apply a number of effects to your wood textures to give them character. They are accessible by clicking the first "Select Type..." button found in any of the Shade Effect sections, as shown in the following illustration.
Clicking the button will allow you to select among four effects: Adjust Color, Emboss, Grit, and Ring Colors.
