The Symmetry tool is used to automatically replicate a design across a Canvas document. It can be selected from the Canvas toolbox.
If a design is symmetrical, then it may not be necessary to draw the entire pattern.
In this example, activating 2x/Rotational symmetry automatically fills in the missing half of the design.
Symmetry is applied to an entire layer and will influence all shapes belonging to that layer.
Those shapes can continue to be edited and the symmetry will automatically update accordingly.
This tool does not have any workspace actions, and is instead completely controlled by the buttons in the ribbon.
Symmetry Section
This section controls the number of copies of the design that will appear as a result of applying the symmetry.

Selects symmetry that will result in 8 copies of the design, including the original. There is only one type of 8-way symmetry, so the Technique section will not appear. |

Depending on the selection in the Symmetry section described above, the Technique section may appear to offer additional symmetry options.
